Environmentally Friendly Holidays.
"We
have recently become associated with the Ecolabel group from Giulianova
and are, up to now, the first Eco hotel in Tortoreto Lido. We
are convinced that with a little effort and attention to small details
we can preserve the environment, health and beauty of our territory
leaving it as intact as possible for generations to come. We have,
therefore, adopted some tactics which allow us to safeguard resources,
the environment and nature. One particularly important aspect of the
Ecolabel project is also that of raising awareness in our guests as far
as this eco-sensitive philosophy is concerned.
Some of the most
important aspects are:

Producing less
waste by participating in waste separation and
collection, recycling programmes, using products
which have less packaging, returnable bottles and
detergents which have a low impact on the
environment….;

Reducing water
consumption by using flow regulators;

Saving energy by
using low consumption bulbs;
-
We try to contain
noise pollution with soundproofed walls, double
glazed doors and windows, and we also invite our
guests to respect the hours of silence in the
afternoon and at night;

We use fresh fruit
and vegetables, which come from local agricultural
firms which use the most natural cultivation
methods;
-
We value local
traditions and gastronomic specialities of the
area proposing local dishes on several occasions
through the course of the week;

We promote the
interior part of the territory rich in culture,
history, traditions and wonderful natural scenery
like parks, valleys and mountains; we study and
suggest itineries for outings and provide
information leaflets;

We help those who
decide to come to our hotel by train, providing a
free transfer service from the station to our
hotel;
-
We try to
encourage the guests to participate in waste
separation and collection by requesting sheet and
towel changes only when needed, rather than on a
daily basis, in doing so helping us to reduce
energy waste and pollution…
